Relatively new project done in my illustration class. Assignment was to develop a sketch based on an article which purposes a theoretical technology war between teens and adults. The article states that in some cases, teens are unhappy with the older generations intruding on social networking sites like facebook and myspace. The illustration depicts a flow of vintage technology and the head of an old man emerging from a modern computer in order to confront the younger generation.

New illustration up for a project in which I was asked visualize a historic or contemporary personality with a pet of choice. I decided to depict Freud and personify his “pets” based on his concepts of the id and superego. The cat represents the mischievous id, and the fish represents the wise superego. I could have gone with something a bit more straight forward like an owl, but I wanted to switch it up. Hand drawn line art rendered with watercolor. I think the limited color pallete keeps the content introspective while still preserving a visual radiance.
