Design and illustration for a childrens book which addresses the Seneca Nation of Indians need to educate children on conserving water. My purpose was to bring the concept to life by creating a cast of characters based on the Seneca Indian’s tribal symbols. I wanted the illustrations to be playful enough to capture a child's attention while also drawing in adults. The backgrounds exist as a long flowing landscape which can literally be layed out page by page to create a horizontal panorama. As the reader progresses through the book and (presumably) learns how to save water, the flow of the landscape slows to a trickle, signifying the reader's understanding of water conservation.
