Wallace Stevens Poster

Iwas asked to create a poster design for The Hartford in association with The Friends and Enemies of Wallace Stevens in order to promote an annual poetry reading by artist Heather McHugh. My original concept was an illustrative venture based on the narrative of her poetry A Night in a World. The title of the poem gave me a grand sense of atmosphere. For this reason I wanted my illustration to be focused on how relatively small we are in comparison to our surroundings. I was then asked to change the work in order to accommodate a cleaner design.
